Ashgabat International Airport in cooperation with «Turkmenistan Airlines» received an extension of the ACC3 certificate in accordance with the standards and consulting practice of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the aviation security requirements of the European Union. The designation ACC3 (air carrier of cargo or mail operating to the Union from an airport of a third country) is a prerequisite for the air transportation or for transporting air mail to the European Union (EU) or Iceland, Norway and Switzerland and is required by Regulation (EU) 2015/1998 . The designation ACC3 is in principle required for all flights carrying goods or mail for transfer, transit or unloading at an EU or EEA airport. The respective authorities of the Member States of the European Union, Iceland, Norway and Switzerland are responsible for the designation of specific air carriers as ACC3. The designation is based on the air carrier's safety program and on-site verification of implementation in accordance with the objectives outlined in this verification checklist. The checklist is a tool that will be used by the EU Aviation Security Validator to assess the level of security applied to air cargo or airmail related to the EU or EEA, under the responsibility or liability of ACC3 or an air carrier applying for an ACC3 designation.
